Commercial electric vehicle manufacturer EKA Mobility announced a strategic partnership with Swedish furniture giant IKEA to provide electric delivery vans in India. As part of this collaboration, EKA has already supplied IKEA with 10 electric vans and plans to expand the fleet across various regions in the country.
This partnership aligns with IKEA’s goal to electrify its last-mile delivery fleet in India, aiming to significantly reduce its carbon emissions and promote more sustainable and eco-friendly logistics operations, according to EKA Mobility.
“By providing IKEA with our state-of-the-art electric delivery vans, we are not only supporting a cleaner environment but also highlighting the transformative impact of electric vehicles on the logistics sector,” stated Rohit Srivastava, Chief Growth Officer at EKA Mobility.
“IKEA India is strengthening its capabilities to address the challenges of electric vehicles in India and is actively investing in long-term, innovative solutions,” according to Saiba Suri, Country Customer Fulfilment Manager.
As IKEA enters new markets, the company is prioritizing preparation for this transition, laying the foundation for the future of its supply chain, he added.
