SRIVARU Holding Limited, a leading electric vehicle company, launched its latest innovation, the PRANA 2.0, an all-electric performance two-wheeler, at a significant event in Chennai today. Priced at INR 2,55,150, the PRANA 2.0 aims to redefine urban mobility in India.
The launch of PRANA 2.0 comes amid a surge in demand for electric two-wheelers in India, particularly among younger consumers. SRIVARU Motors has closely monitored this trend, engaging extensively with Indian youth to design a motorcycle that meets their expectations for quality and performance. This focus aligns with the broader economic trend of “Premiumization” in India, driven by increasing aspirations for high-quality products.
Speaking at the launch, SRIVARU Motors Founder and CEO, Mr. Mohanraj Ramasamy, highlighted the significance of the event, stating, “Tamil Nadu, which accounts for over 40% of India’s electric vehicle demand, is the perfect location for launching the PRANA 2.0. The Indian motorcycle market, which generated over USD 25.6 billion in revenue in 2023, is projected to grow to USD 36.1 billion by 2027. Electric motorcycles, currently holding a 3% market share, are expected to capture 50% by 2030. This represents a tremendous growth opportunity, particularly as the Indian government emphasizes the transition to Electric Vehicles as part of its goal to achieve a low-carbon economy by 2047.”
The PRANA 2.0, which has been in development for nearly two years, boasts over 100 new components compared to its predecessor. Mr. Ramasamy emphasized that the bike is market-ready, with SRIVARU’s manufacturing facility in Coimbatore capable of producing over 2,000 units per month on a single production line. He also noted that the company plans to significantly invest in research and development over the next three years, aiming to position SRIVARU Motors as a leader in India’s EV industry.
The event was attended by prominent figures, including Padma Shri Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai, Vice President of the Tamil Nadu State Council for Science & Technology, who served as the chief guest. Other key attendees included Mr. Weng Kiat (Adron) Leow, Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Felix Friedrich Heinimann, Chief Marketing Officer, Mr. Yuvaraj Sankar, Director of Engineering, Mr. Selvaraj Krishnan, Board Director, and Mr. Chellappan Ramasamy, Director.
Mr. Yuvaraj Sankar, Director of Engineering at SRIVARU Motors, described the PRANA 2.0 as an “engineering marvel,” highlighting its advanced powertrain safety, high-performance battery pack, and impressive top speed of 123 km/h with a range of 250 km. The bike features a refined suspension system, a vibrant display, and four driving modes, including a reverse mode for parking assistance. The ergonomic design ensures a premium riding experience, while the integrated mobile application offers real-time tracking and diagnostics.
