Union Minister Pralhad Joshi To Lay Foundation Stone For Advanced EV Testing Facility In Bengaluru

Shri Pralhad Venkatesh Joshi, Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and New and Renewable Energy, will inaugurate the foundation stone of the Electric Vehicle (EV) Testing Facility at the National Test House (NTH) RRSL Camp in Bengaluru today. This initiative is part of a broader effort to expand testing facilities in southern India, focusing on emerging areas such as EV battery and charger testing.

The new satellite center at RRSL Jakkuru campus in Bengaluru will play a crucial role in supporting the growing electric vehicle ecosystem by providing essential testing services. Equipped with cutting-edge EV battery testing equipment, the facility will conduct comprehensive tests including electrical safety, EMC/EMF, functional safety, and durability, among others. This development is expected to significantly boost the EV industry in southern India, contributing to innovation in automotive technology and environmental sustainability.

The establishment of this state-of-the-art facility marks a pivotal step in strengthening India’s infrastructure for electric vehicles, aligning with the nation’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions. National Test House, a leading scientific organization under the Department of Consumer Affairs, will oversee the facility, ensuring that EVs meet stringent quality standards before reaching the market.

In addition to the EV testing facility, an OIML-approved certificate will be awarded to M/S Tatsuno India Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, for their dispensing unit (Petrol Pump) on this occasion, further highlighting the importance of quality assurance in India’s industrial advancements.
