In a groundbreaking achievement, Greaves Electric Mobility 3W (GEM 3W) has announced that its flagship electric three-wheeler passenger vehicle, the Greaves Eltra City, has set a new record for the longest journey on a single charge. The Eltra City successfully traveled 225 kilometers from Bangalore to Mysore, marking it as the highest-range three-wheeler in India.
The historic “Eltra City Freedom Ride” was organized to coincide with Independence Day celebrations. The route showcased several significant landmarks, including Vidhan Soudha, HAL Ajeet at Cubbon Road, and Tipu Sultan’s mausoleum, culminating at the Freedom Fighter’s Park in Mysore.
K Vijaya Kumar, Director of Greaves Electric Mobility 3W, expressed enthusiasm about the milestone. “The Eltra City Freedom Ride not only highlights our advanced electric vehicle technology but also underscores our commitment to sustainable and cost-effective urban mobility. This achievement aligns with our mission to propel India towards a greener future,” he stated.
Equipped with a 10.8 kWh lithium-ion battery and a 9.6 kW motor, the Eltra City offers superior performance with a payload capacity of 528 kg, a 14-degree gradability, and 49 Nm of peak torque. The vehicle’s Eco mode was utilized during the journey to demonstrate its range capabilities and address potential range concerns among customers.
The Eltra City emphasizes safety, low maintenance costs, and high vehicle uptime, reinforcing its market-leading position.
