HPCL And Mooving Partner To Enhance EV Infrastructure With Automated Battery Swapping Stations

Mooving, a smart swapping network powered by Livguard and part of the SAR Group, is partnering with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to install automated swapping stations at HPCL’s 22,000+ retail outlets across India.

Mooving stated it was chosen by HPCL after extensive discussions due to its commitment to indigenous, Make in India technology and its technical and delivery capabilities.

In the coming year, Mooving and HPCL intend to roll out more than 500 automated battery swapping stations. Utilizing Mooving’s fully automated, man-less technology, these stations aim to set new standards in convenience and efficiency, enhancing the user experience and differentiating the company from its competitors. This strategic rollout is expected to significantly boost battery swapping services, accelerate electric mobility adoption, and provide essential support to EV customers nationwide.

HPCL, with more than 22,000 retail outlets in India, is dedicated to decarbonizing the mobility sector and has already installed over 3,700 EV charging stations to reduce range anxiety for EV customers. This partnership allows Mooving to leverage HPCL’s extensive network and innovative solutions to set a new standard in battery swapping, accelerating EV adoption, and supporting the growth of the green economy. The agreement was signed by Mooving and HPCL, represented by Subhankar Dutta, General Manager, Retail Strategy and Business Development.

Pritesh Talwar, President of Lectrix EV and Mooving, said, “Our collaboration with HPCL is a monumental step towards transforming India’s EV infrastructure. Our automated technology combined with HPCL’s extensive network will redefine battery-swapping services. This significant move will help develop one of India’s largest automated battery-swapping networks. Additionally, this partnership will spur economic growth by generating new job opportunities and encouraging innovation within the EV ecosystem.

This partnership aims to build a swap network ecosystem for EVs, making electric vehicle ownership easier by offering Battery as a Service (BaaS) across the country, which includes battery costs, maintenance, and charging. Mooving’s seamless and efficient battery swapping process is driving increased adoption of electric vehicles, solidifying its leadership in the EV energy sector.
