Ford Motor Company has announced the return of the street truck with the introduction of the 2025 Ford Maverick Lobo. Inspired by the lowered truck era of the mid-1980s to early 2000s, the Maverick Lobo is designed for modern street truck enthusiasts and complements the off-road capabilities of the Maverick Tremor and the efficiency of the Maverick Hybrid.

The Maverick Lobo, engineered for on-road performance, features a lowered ride height, tuned suspension, and a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine. The collaboration between Maverick designer Josh Blundo and engineers like Keith Daugherty has resulted in a truck that not only looks the part but delivers authentic street performance.

“Lobo is the street-performance version of Maverick that will allow even more customers to experience the value and versatility only found in a Maverick,” said Josh Blundo, who was inspired by a clay model of the Maverick and envisioned its potential as a performance truck.

The Lobo boasts a half-inch lower ride height in the front and 1.12 inches lower in the rear compared to the standard Maverick. The truck also includes performance-tuned steering, torque vectoring through a twin-clutch rear drive unit, and enhanced brakes with dual-piston front brake calipers from the Focus ST.

A new “Lobo mode” enhances cornering performance, grip, and stability, making the truck drive more like a performance car. This mode is intended for closed courses, as it activates the truck’s torque vectoring and reduces the capability of the stability control system.

The Maverick Lobo’s design includes a unique front fascia, painted rear bumper, rocker moldings, a black-painted roof, and 19-inch black wheels. The interior features street art-inspired accents, including graffiti overprint on the seats and Grabber Blue and Electric Lime stitching.

Customers can choose between standard and high configurations, with the latter adding features like a heated steering wheel, Ford Co-Pilot360 2.0 driver-assist technologies, a 360-degree camera, spray-in bedliners, and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and Pro Trailer Backup Assist starting in early 2025.
