Porsche has recently introduced an entry-level rear-wheel drive variant to its all-electric Macan EV lineup, which is now “immediately available.” The German automaker also announced a sportier variant, the Macan 4S, which is positioned higher up in the Macan EV range, slotting between the Macan 4 and the Macan Turbo.
When Porsche initially introduced the all-electric Macan, it was available in two variants: the Macan 4, generating 402 bhp, and the Macan Turbo, delivering 630 bhp. Both versions came equipped with a 100-kWh battery pack, providing 95-kWh of usable capacity, and were powered by dual electric motors producing over 400 bhp. These all-wheel-drive variants could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds for the Turbo and 5.2 seconds for the Macan 4.
The new base variant of the Porsche Macan EV features a single electric motor producing approximately 335 bhp and uses the same 100-kWh battery pack. Weighing 110 kg less than the AWD variants due to the absence of front motors, this RWD Macan can produce about 355 bhp of overboost power and 563 Nm of torque with launch control. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 220 km/h.
The new Macan 4S, a performance variant, is positioned between the Macan 4 and the Turbo. It combines a new rear axle motor with the existing front axle motors from the other variants, delivering approximately 442 bhp, which can boost to around 509 bhp with overboost. With launch control, it can achieve 820 Nm of torque and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds, reaching a top speed of 240 km/h.
The Macan 4S comes standard with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), an optional feature on the base variant, allowing electronic control and adjustment of the dampers. Both new variants offer optional rear-axle steering, with the 4S exclusively featuring rear-wheel torque vectoring.
The off-road package includes additional roof rails, side skirts, thicker wheel arch claddings, and enhanced front and rear bumpers for better body protection. Porsche has also introduced a new exterior color, Slate Grey Neo, and a new 20-inch wheel design for the entire Macan EV lineup.
The off-road package enhances the Macan EV models with a redesigned front bumper for a better approach angle of 17.5 degrees, increasing ground clearance by 10 mm to 195 mm. Buyers can choose a new Vesuvius Grey shade for the off-road elements or match the car’s body color.
Porsche has updated the Macan’s electrification with the Porsche Driver Experience, featuring a welcome animation, refreshed look, and ambient lighting controls. The infotainment system combines analog and digital elements, with a long rectangular screen stretching from the driver’s side to the passenger side AC vents, divided into a main infotainment monitor and a dedicated passenger display.
