Mercedes-Benz has introduced its fourth electric vehicle in India, the EQA 250+. Priced at Rs 66 lakh, this compact SUV represents the brand’s most affordable electric offering in the country. Reservations are now being accepted for the EQA, thereby expanding the company’s range of electric vehicles includes the EQS, EQB, and EQE models.
Derived from the GLA platform, the EQA retains the compact SUV’s design while integrating several new updates. As an electric vehicle, it features a closed black panel front grille adorned with metal brushed three-pointed star emblems. The SUV rides on new 19-inch AMG alloy wheels and showcases connected LED tail lamps. Customers have the option to select from seven colors, including choices like Mountain Grey Magno, Patagonia Red, and Polar White.
Inside, the EQA boasts Artico man-made leather upholstery and fabric made from recycled PET bottles. The dashboard panel offers ambient lighting with 64 color options, complemented by rose gold-colored turbine-shaped air vents. Technological highlights include a powerful 12-speaker 710 W Burmester sound system with Dolby Atmos, a head-up display for navigation cues and vehicle information, and dual 10.25-inch displays. Safety features include seven airbags, including one for the driver’s knee, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
The EQA 250+ is equipped with a front-wheel-drive configuration powered by a single motor on the front axle. It houses a 70.5 kWh battery pack, delivering 188 bhp and 385 Nm of torque. Mercedes-Benz claims a range of 497 km to 560 km (WLTP), acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 8.6 seconds, and a top speed of 160 km/h.
Charging options include reaching 10-80% capacity in 35 minutes using a 100 kW DC charger, providing about 400 km of range as per Mercedes-Benz estimates. A standard 10 kW AC charger fully charges the battery in 7 hours and 15 minutes.
