Hyundai Motor Europe has officially established its latest subsidiary, Hyundai Motor Sweden. This move aims to enhance the company’s service to customers in Sweden by introducing a new agent sales model. Under this model, customers will now sign contracts directly with Hyundai, while dealers will serve as the company’s agents, handling customer-facing roles. This shift ensures transparent pricing across the country, regardless of the purchase location.
“Hyundai’s vision is to provide mobility solutions in a socially and environmentally sustainable way. Therefore, it is natural to have our own local presence and increased focus in Sweden,” said Michael Cole, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Europe. “We see Sweden as a progressive market and believe that Swedish consumers share our view on the value of new technology and innovation, especially when it comes to electrified mobility.”
Jaehong Kim, President & CEO of Hyundai Motor Sweden, expressed optimism about the transition, stating, “A national sales company allows us to act more in line with the needs and interests of Swedes; we will have closer contact with our customers and can offer car ownership that is smooth and easy with a continued comprehensive network of authorised agents and service workshops.”
Hyundai Motor Group, recognized as the third-largest vehicle manufacturer globally, is at the forefront of the journey towards electrified mobility with its award-winning electric vehicles such as the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6. The group is also venturing beyond traditional car manufacturing, developing innovations in robotics, urban air mobility, and robotaxis through partnerships with Boston Dynamics, Supernal, and Motional.
The transition from the former import company, Hyundai Bilar Import AB, to Hyundai Motor Sweden marks a significant step in Hyundai’s commitment to the Swedish market and its customers.
