Eicher Rolls Out 50,000th Fully Built Bus from State-of-the-Art Baggad Plant in Madhya Pradesh

Eicher Trucks & Buses, a unit of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), has achieved a significant milestone with the rollout of its 50,000th fully factory-built bus from its Baggad Plant in Madhya Pradesh. The milestone vehicle, an Eicher Skyline Pro E electric bus, highlights the plant’s commitment to modernizing India’s public transport sector.

Vinod Aggarwal, MD & CEO of VECV, expressed pride in reaching this milestone, emphasizing Eicher’s leadership in providing best-in-class products compliant with regulatory norms. He credited the achievement to the dedicated team, customers, and partners who supported the company.

Since its inauguration in 2013, the Baggad Plant has spanned 43 acres and received awards for manufacturing a diverse range of buses, including diesel, CNG, and electric variants for domestic and international markets. The plant features advanced robotic paint systems and is certified for Integrated Management Systems, reflecting Eicher’s focus on efficiency, quality, and environmental stewardship.

Eicher has implemented sustainability initiatives in its operations, including energy management systems with advanced monitoring and VFD-enabled panels to optimize energy use. The plant operates on 42% renewable energy sources and achieved Platinum Green Factory certification in 2016. It was also recognized as the Smart Factory of the Year in 2021.

Looking forward, Eicher Trucks & Buses continues to advance alternative fuel technologies such as CNG, LNG, HCNG, and electric vehicles. The 50,000th bus, a Skyline Pro-E 9m model, showcases Eicher’s latest in electric vehicle technology, designed for urban efficiency, cleanliness, and passenger comfort while meeting stringent safety standards.
