Magenta Mobility, a leading provider of integrated electric mobility solutions, has launched ‘Project 302’ with the inauguration of a new office and charging depot in Bhiwandi, named after the area’s Pincode. The event, graced by Mr. Somnath Karnavar Patil, Assistant Police Inspector, marks a significant step towards decarbonizing logistics in one of India’s largest warehousing hubs.
Under ‘Project 302,’ Magenta Mobility has deployed an initial fleet of 500 electric vehicles (EVs), including three-wheelers and four-wheelers, utilizing the hub-and-spoke model to cater to the burgeoning demands of sectors such as e-commerce, FMCG, and logistics. The establishment of a charging hub alongside the office not only supports the electrification of the fleet but also creates approximately 200 local job opportunities across logistics, charging operations, and field operations.
Bhiwandi, spanning 25 million square feet, serves as a crucial node for e-commerce and third-party logistics, boasting robust infrastructure like Metro Line 5 and connectivity to major cities and ports. This strategic positioning aligns with Magenta Mobility’s vision to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability goals in Western India.
Maxson Lewis, Founder and CEO of Magenta Mobility, expressed optimism about the expansion, highlighting Bhiwandi’s strategic advantages: “This milestone underscores our commitment to sustainability and operational excellence. Bhiwandi’s connectivity and infrastructure make it an ideal location to extend our services, enabling faster and more efficient deliveries while reducing our carbon footprint.”
The new office exemplifies Magenta Mobility’s commitment to sustainability with practices such as energy-efficient lighting, paperless operations, and minimizing single-use plastics. Additionally, the company has implemented e-waste management initiatives to responsibly handle electronic waste from its operations.
Currently operating across 17 cities with a fleet that has covered 16 million clean kilometers, Magenta Mobility aims to deploy 10,000 EVs by September 2025 under its ambitious ‘Ab Ki Baar Dus Hazaar’ program. The expansion in Bhiwandi solidifies their position as a leader in safe, smart, and sustainable logistics solutions across India.
The inauguration of the Bhiwandi office marks a pivotal moment in Magenta Mobility’s journey towards transforming urban mobility and logistics with electric vehicles, reinforcing their commitment to driving environmental stewardship and economic growth in the region.
