Production Highlights

In April 2024, Nissan’s global production reached 264,308 vehicles, marking a 10.1% increase compared to the same month last year. However, production within Japan experienced a decline of 9.8%, totaling 54,478 vehicles. This mixed outcome reflects divergent trends across different regions and vehicle types.

  • Passenger Vehicles: 48,273 units produced, down 10.0% year-on-year.
  • Commercial Vehicles: 6,205 units produced, down 7.9% year-on-year.

Production outside Japan saw a robust increase of 16.8%, with notable gains in several key markets:

  • United States: 48,947 units, up 7.7%.
  • Mexico: 55,892 units, a significant rise of 51.9%.
  • United Kingdom: 26,230 units, up 10.0%.
  • China: 51,844 units, an increase of 9.2%.
  • Other Regions: 26,917 units, up 3.3%.

Year-to-date figures from January to April 2024 also show varied trends:

  • Japan: Sales, including minivehicles, decreased by 9.0%, totaling 30,054 units. Registered vehicle sales dropped 14.8%, while minivehicle sales rose 2.9%.
  • United States: 75,323 units sold, a decline of 10.1%.
  • Canada: 7,860 units sold, down 10.6%.
  • Mexico: 18,176 units sold, up 20.5%.
  • North America: Total sales reached 101,475 units, a decrease of 5.8%.
  • Europe: 20,408 units sold, an increase of 10.8%.
  • China: 54,921 units sold, down 10.4%.
  • Other Regions: 36,433 units sold, down 3.1%.

Year-to-date sales from January to April 2024:

  • Global Sales: 1,163,629 units, up 5.2%.
  • Sales Outside Japan: 985,763 units, up 6.2%.
  • Japan: 177,866 units, a slight increase of 0.4%.

Export Figures

Nissan’s exports from Japan in April 2024 totaled 33,775 vehicles, a decline of 9.3% compared to the same month last year.

  • North America: 15,324 units, down 23.5%.
  • Europe: 7,493 units, up 38.1%.
  • Other Regions: 10,958 units, down 6.9%.
