Bengaluru-based deep-tech battery recycling startup Metastable Materials has announced the appointment of Daniel Troedsson, a globally recognized battery and energy expert with nearly two decades of experience, as the company’s strategic advisor. In this role, Troedsson will significantly contribute to Metastable’s strategic planning, providing industry insights and mentorship to enhance the startup’s market positioning. Additionally, his expertise is expected to facilitate Metastable Materials’ expansion into international markets in the near future.
Troedsson brings a wealth of experience to Metastable, having served as the former CEO and Investor Relations head at Sweden-based Alelion Batteries AB, now known as Alelion Energy Systems AB. He has also held senior positions at Volvo Energy and Volvo Group Trucks Technology, focusing on battery optimization, monitoring technology, and electromobility. His extensive background spans battery technology, energy systems, and sustainable solutions.
Troedsson’s interest in Metastable Materials aligns with the shared vision of scaling eco-friendly battery recycling, promoting circularity in the energy storage value chain, and fostering a more sustainable world. In the short term, his mentorship will enhance Metastable’s strategic decision-making, while in the long term, his guidance is expected to help establish Metastable Materials as a global leader in sustainable battery recycling.

Under his leadership, Alelion became a preferred battery supplier for electrified heavy-duty powertrains and HCVs.
In recent years, Troedsson has been actively investing in promising climate-tech startups across Europe and other continents as an angel investor and providing his expertise to new-age sustainability-first companies as an independent advisor.
