VinFast Auto announced that Sony’s new online entertainment service, RIDEVU, will be available on its VF 8 electric car model in the U.S. Being the first car manufacturer to offer RIDEVU, VinFast shows its dedication to delivering advanced, smart electric cars and excellent driving experiences to its customers.
RIDEVU will be available for free as part of the VF Connect Prime package. U.S. VF 8 owners who sign up for the service will get access to RIDEVU through the over-the-air (OTA) software update version 9.6.1.11.
Developed by Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE), RIDEVU offers access to over 2,000 movies. Users can enjoy RIDEVU’s library, which is updated regularly, for 12 months and can replay up to 100 movies unlimited times. Customers can also access premium titles by redeeming credits, purchasing, or renting through the app.
RIDEVU provides a modern tech experience with easy syncing and streaming on multiple screens, including in-car displays and personal devices. The central screen’s Screen Manager feature lets users control playback on all connected displays, offering convenient parental controls from the vehicle’s dashboard.
For safety, drivers can only watch movies on the central screen through the RIDEVU app while the car is parked (such as during charging or camping). Passengers can use the Screen Manager feature in the RIDEVU Companion app to watch movies on their mobile devices (smartphones, tablets) while the vehicle is moving.
