BMW Group Appoints Stefan Richmann as New Head of MINI Brand

In a strategic move to steer the MINI brand towards its next chapter, the BMW Group has announced a change in leadership effective August 1, 2024. Stefan Richmann, a seasoned executive with extensive experience within the BMW Group, will take the reins from Stefanie Wurst, who has successfully led MINI since February 2022.

During her tenure, Stefanie Wurst strategically positioned the British premium brand MINI for future growth, focusing on new markets, target groups, electric mobility, and digitalization. Under her leadership, MINI witnessed significant milestones, including the phased introduction of direct sales in China and Europe and the rollout of the New MINI Family, comprising models like the MINI Cooper, MINI Aceman, and MINI Countryman.

Jochen Goller, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Customer, Brands, Sales, expressed gratitude for Wurst’s contributions, acknowledging her role in shaping MINI’s future direction. With Stefan Richmann stepping in, BMW Group aims to leverage his extensive experience to further propel MINI’s evolution and growth trajectory.

Richmann’s career within the BMW Group spans over two decades, during which he has held various managerial positions across different regions.
