American Honda Motor Co., Inc. announced that Jett Lawrence, representing Team Honda HRC, secured his first championship title in the premier 450SX class of the 2024 AMA Supercross Championship, marking Honda’s consecutive triumph for the second year in a row.
The season commenced in January in Anaheim, with Jett Lawrence, alongside his elder brother Hunter Lawrence, competing on the CRF450RWE. Jett’s dominance became evident early on as he claimed victory in the season-opener and continued to showcase his prowess throughout the championship.
Highlights of Jett’s remarkable journey include victories in Round 5 in Detroit, reclaiming the overall lead in Round 6, and an impressive streak of three consecutive wins from Round 8 onwards. His unparalleled performance culminated in a total of 8 wins and 10 podium finishes out of the 17 rounds, securing not only the series championship but also the prestigious AMA 450SX Rookie of the Year award.
With this victory, Jett Lawrence has etched his name in the annals of American motocross history, having previously clinched championships in the Pro Motocross 450MX class and Super Motocross 450SMX class last year. By adding the 450SX championship title to his accolades, Jett has achieved the rare feat of winning all three premier class titles in American motocross racing series.
