Battery Smart, a network facilitating the swapping of batteries for electric two and three-wheelers, celebrated the inauguration of its 1000th swap station in Delhi today. This milestone underscores its dedication to establishing the most extensive network of swap stations, ensuring that EV users are always within a one-kilometer radius of a station, with no waiting time, according to the company.

Since launching its first swap station in Janakpuri, New Delhi, in June 2020, Battery Smart has rapidly expanded to 1000 stations across 30 cities. Over the course of this expansion, the company has completed more than 35 million swaps. Expanding its reach nationwide, Battery Smart strategically established stations in Tier 1, 2, and 3 cities across Haryana, the NCR (National Capital Region), Karnataka, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and most recently, Maharashtra.

Siddharth Sikka, Co-founder of Battery Smart, expressed gratitude for the Government’s consistent support of the EV industry, which has played a pivotal role in the company’s growth. He highlighted the importance of addressing the GST disparity on separately sold lithium-ion batteries, stating that it would further accelerate EV adoption by enhancing affordability, particularly benefiting commercial EV drivers who form the backbone of India’s last-mile mobility sector.
