As the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship season reaches its climax, all eyes are on the Nissan Formula E Team as they prepare to tackle the revised track layout around the Tempelhof Airport Street Circuit in Berlin this weekend.
Coming off a solid performance in Monaco, where they secured valuable points, Nissan Formula E Team is eager to capitalize on their momentum in Rounds 9 and 10 of the championship. With Oliver Rowland currently sitting fourth in the standings and Sacha Fenestraz enjoying a string of consistent finishes, the team is poised for success in Germany.
The Berlin double-header marks the beginning of four consecutive weekends of racing, promising an exhilarating spectacle for Formula E enthusiasts. The revised track layout, aimed at enhancing racing for the more powerful Gen3 cars, presents a new set of challenges, with significant changes to the pit lane and start/finish line. Notably, the iconic sight of the Douglas DC-6 airplane awaits drivers at Turn 2, adding to the excitement of this latest track development.
Track action kicks off with FP1 on Friday, followed by qualifying and the E-Prix on both Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, following the double-header weekend, the Rookie Test on Monday will see Nissan Formula E Team represented by 22-year-old Caio Collet and 19-year-old Gabriele Mini, further showcasing the team’s commitment to nurturing young talent.
Ahead of the highly anticipated event, Nissan Formula E Team has released the latest edition of its ‘Sounds of Season 10’ playlist, featuring a high-octane soundtrack created specifically for the Berlin race by German composer Matthias Rehfeldt.
Commenting on their prospects for the weekend, Tommaso Volpe, Team Principal, expressed confidence in the team’s capabilities while acknowledging the challenges posed by the track changes. Both Oliver Rowland and Sacha Fenestraz echoed Volpe’s sentiments, emphasizing their determination to maximize performance and secure valuable points in the championship race.
