In a bid to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and bolster the EV charging infrastructure along India’s highways, Statiq, the nation’s leading EV charging network, has joined forces with Cube Stop Highway Rest Areas. This collaboration marks a pivotal step towards fostering sustainable mobility solutions across the country.
India, boasting the world’s second-largest road network spanning approximately 63.73 lakh km, has witnessed a surge in vehicular traffic in recent years. However, this growth has also exacerbated environmental challenges, notably carbon emissions. By transitioning to EVs, India can significantly mitigate its environmental impact, as these vehicles produce zero tailpipe emissions, presenting a cleaner and greener transportation alternative.
Under the partnership, Statiq will install cutting-edge EV charging stations at various Cube Stop Highway Rest Areas, starting with the flagship location in Anantapur on the Hyderabad-Bengaluru Highway (NH44). These stations will cater to a diverse range of vehicles, including 4-wheelers and heavy vehicles like trucks and buses. With Cube Stop strategically positioned along major highways, the collaboration aims to democratize access to EV charging facilities, alleviating range anxiety for long intercity journeys.
Expressing enthusiasm about the collaboration, Akshit Bansal, Founder & CEO of Statiq, stated, “We envision a future powered by green energy, and through partnerships like this, we aim to expedite the transition to clean energy by expanding the EV charging infrastructure along the nation’s highways. This partnership perfectly aligns with our mission to make EV charging accessible, convenient, and reliable for all.”
Echoing this sentiment, Nitin Goel, Chief Operating Officer of Cube Stop, emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction. “Cube Stop is dedicated to providing unparalleled convenience and comfort to travelers on India’s roadways. Our partnership with Statiq reflects our commitment to embracing innovation and meeting the evolving needs of our patrons. By integrating EV charging stations into our network of amenities, we aim to enhance the Cube Stop experience while supporting the nation’s transition to sustainable mobility.”
Statiq has already deployed 7,000 chargers across tier 1, tier 2, and tier 3 cities in India, with ambitious plans to scale up to 20,000 EV charging points by 2025. This collaboration with Cube Stop represents a significant stride towards realizing these objectives and propelling India’s EV revolution forward.
