In a significant milestone for India’s electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem, Tata Power, a leading integrated power company and provider of EV charging solutions, has achieved a groundbreaking feat by powering 10 crore (100 million) green kilometers across various segments of EV charging infrastructure nationwide.
This achievement underscores Tata Power’s pivotal role in advancing sustainable mobility solutions in India, aligning with the nation’s vision for clean and green transportation. With the government’s ambitious targets to ensure that 30 percent of all vehicle sales in the country are electric by 2030, Tata Power’s contribution to expanding EV charging infrastructure is crucial.
Under its EZ Charge initiative, Tata Power has deployed over 86,000 home chargers, 5,300+ public, semi-public, and fleet charging points, and 850+ bus charging stations across 530 cities and towns in India. These chargers have been strategically placed at various accessible locations such as highways, hotels, malls, hospitals, and residential complexes, facilitating the exponential growth of electric mobility nationwide.
As the demand for electric vehicles continues to surge, Tata Power is also focused on providing tech-enabled customer-centric solutions, including RFID card technology for wireless payments, making charging convenient and hassle-free for EV users.
Tata Power’s commitment to zero-emission mobility has been recognized with the prestigious ‘Shoonya Infrastructure Champion’ accolade, awarded during the 2nd Annual Shoonya Forum in New Delhi. Launched in 2021 by NITI Aayog, the Shoonya – Zero Pollution Mobility campaign has fostered crucial collaborations with industry partners, including e-commerce and food delivery firms, ride-hailing services, vehicle manufacturers, fleet aggregators, infrastructure providers, and financiers, shaping a cleaner mobility landscape within the EV ecosystem.
With India poised to reach annual sales of 1 crore electric vehicles by 2030, Tata Power’s expansive network and dedication to sustainable mobility position the company at the forefront of the country’s transformative journey towards electric transportation.
