BMW Motorsport Dominates DTM Test Drives and ADAC GT Masters Preparations at Hockenheim

In a whirlwind of high-octane action, Schubert Motorsport spearheaded BMW’s charge at the official DTM test drives held at Hockenheim (GER) this Tuesday and Wednesday. With the season’s eagerly anticipated kickoff at the end of April looming large, the team left no stone unturned in preparing its trio of BMW M4 GT3s for the adrenaline-fueled battles ahead.

Under the keen eyes of motorsport enthusiasts, BMW M works drivers René Rast (GER), Sheldon van der Linde (RSA), and Marco Wittmann (GER) took to the track, unveiling the sleek new car designs adorned with the iconic logos of BMW M Motorsport Partners RoboMarkets, Shell, and Schaeffler. It marked the first outing for these formidable drivers in the revamped racing machines, setting the stage for what promises to be an electrifying season.

After four intensive test sessions, the verdict was resoundingly positive as drivers praised the performance and handling of the BMW M4 GT3s, instilling confidence in the team’s prospects for the upcoming challenges on the circuit.

But the excitement didn’t end there. Alongside the DTM trials, the ADAC GT Masters also revved its engines at Hockenheim. FK Performance Motorsport showcased their prowess with two BMW M4 GT3s, further amplifying BMW’s presence on the track.

Amidst the flurry of activity, the ADAC made a significant announcement regarding the BMW M2 Cup. Breaking away from tradition, the 2024 season will witness a decentralization of management, with multiple teams taking charge. This shift accompanies an expansion in the lineup, welcoming three categories of cars to the fray, including the BMW M2 CS Racing in both 450 HP and 365 HP variants, as well as the 340 HP BMW M240i Racing.

With events condensed into action-packed weekends, the BMW M2 Cup promises a thrilling spectacle for motorsport aficionados. Scheduled across five DTM events, each weekend will feature two races, each lasting 25 minutes, offering a dynamic showcase of skill and speed.

The countdown has begun for the season opener at the Lausitzring (GER) from 24th to 26th May, where the roar of engines and the thrill of competition will once again captivate audiences worldwide. As BMW Motorsport continues to dominate the track, the stage is set for a gripping season of adrenaline-fueled racing.
