Under the radiant skies of April 1st, Toyota Motor Corporation hosted its annual entrance ceremony at the company’s headquarters in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture. The event, attended by 1,464 new graduates and 428 mid-career hires joining remotely, marked the beginning of a new journey for these aspiring professionals.
President Koji Sato set the tone for the occasion, aiming to instill in the incoming employees “a keen appreciation for the fact that you have joined a company of carmakers.” The ceremony featured a captivating display showcasing the Mirai, a hydrogen-powered truck, alongside some of Chairman Akio Toyoda’s cherished automobiles.
Addressing the future carmakers, President Sato encouraged them to develop a passion for cars, embrace the joy of carmaking, exert their utmost effort, and pursue their dreams relentlessly.
“Company life begins with cars,” remarked President Sato, welcoming the new employees to the esteemed Toyota family. He expressed gratitude to the newcomers for choosing Toyota, emphasizing the company’s delight in their decision to join.
The ceremony provided a visual feast for attendees, with a diverse array of vehicles on display, ranging from the iconic Toyoda Model AA to Chairman Akio Toyoda’s personal favorites: a Century, a GR Yaris, and an 86GRMN. These cars, representing a blend of heritage and innovation, served as a fitting introduction to the world of carmaking.
President Sato encouraged the new recruits to immerse themselves in the display, take photographs with their favorite vehicles, and cherish the moment as the starting point of their journey with Toyota.
As the new employees officially became part of Toyota, President Sato invoked the recently announced Toyota Group vision, “Inventing our path forward, together.” He urged them to reflect on the significance of these words in their daily endeavors, emphasizing the company’s commitment to innovation rooted in its rich heritage.
