This achievement is yet another groundbreaking accomplishment for the brand. BYD hit the production target of its 1 millionth NEV in May 2021. Within just 18 months, this figure tripled, showcasing the company’s rapid expansion.
Subsequently, BYD surpassed the milestone of 5 million units in just 9 additional months. In 2023, BYD’s cumulative annual sales of NEVs reached an impressive 3.02 million units. Various models from BYD’s extensive brand portfolio consistently feature on the top of sales rankings within their respective categories.
BYD significantly expanded its global presence in 2023, with overseas new energy passenger car sales surpassing 240,000 units, marking a remarkable 337% year-on-year growth. As the leading Chinese NEV exporter in 2023, BYD has introduced its new energy passenger vehicles to 64 countries and regions worldwide. Additionally, the company made strategic investments in manufacturing facilities in Thailand, Brazil, Uzbekistan, and Hungary. BYD also became the official partner of UEFA European Football Championship 2024™ this year.
