In a bid to bolster its strides in automated driving technology, Volkswagen Group has announced a significant intensification of its collaboration with Mobileye. The partnership aims to expedite the development and deployment of advanced driver assistance systems across Volkswagen’s renowned brands, including Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, and Porsche.
Under the renewed alliance, Mobileye will provide cutting-edge technologies for both partially and highly automated driving, leveraging its SuperVision and Chauffeur platforms. These technologies will empower Volkswagen’s vehicles with a host of premium-oriented driving functions, enhancing safety and convenience for consumers worldwide.
Among the anticipated features are advanced assistance systems tailored for highway and urban driving, such as automated overtaking on multilane highways, automatic stopping at red lights and stop signs, and support in navigating intersections and roundabouts. Moreover, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will benefit from Mobileye’s offerings, propelling the brand toward Level 4 “fully automated driving.”
Oliver Blume, CEO of the Volkswagen Group and Porsche AG, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting the potential to deliver outstanding products with state-of-the-art technology. He emphasized that the new automated driving functions will personalize every trip, making it safer and more individualized.
