French automaker Citroën has forged a partnership with BluSmart Mobility, India’s leading electric mobility service provider, to bolster the latter’s all-electric fleet expansion. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between Citroën and BluSmart Mobility, securing the supply of 4,000 ë-C3 units. This strategic move aligns perfectly with the growing consumer preference for sustainable transportation alternatives. In the initial phase, 125 Citroën ë-C3 vehicles were inaugurated at BluSmart’s EV charging superhub in Bengaluru.
The new Citroën ë-C3, an all-electric compact SUV, will augment BluSmart’s existing fleet of over 7,000 EVs. Offering an impressive range of 320 kilometers as per ARAI standards, the ë-C3 features cutting-edge fast-charging technology capable of achieving a full charge in under an hour. Citroën’s renowned Advanced Comfort Program ensures an elevated ride experience through intuitive technology and spacious interiors. With a generous 315-liter boot capacity, the ë-C3 caters seamlessly to travelers’ luggage requirements, particularly suitable for airport transfers, a significant segment of BluSmart’s services.
Shishir Mishra, Brand Director at Citroën India, expressed, “This collaboration between Citroën and BluSmart Mobility signifies a shared vision for a sustainable future in electric mobility, reaffirming our commitment to shaping a cleaner and greener transportation ecosystem. The ë-C3’s smart design, operational range, fast charging capabilities, and intuitive technology make it an attractive proposition for passengers and fleet operators alike.”
Anmol Jaggi, Co-founder & CEO of BluSmart, emphasized the shared vision with Citroën, stating, “With a shared goal of achieving net-zero mobility and providing premium, reliable, and safe ride experiences, Citroën is the ideal partner for BluSmart. As we aim to ‘Decarbonize Mobility at Scale,’ our partnership with Citroën strengthens our mission to construct a comprehensive EV mobility ecosystem in India.”
Moreover, BluSmart introduced “Assure by BluSmart,” a unique opportunity for retail and institutional investors to finance the transition to electric mobility. This initiative allows institutions to finance the purchase of EVs and lease them to BluSmart against fixed rentals, further bolstering BluSmart’s efforts in advancing sustainable transportation solutions.
BluSmart has made significant strides in its journey towards sustainable mobility, operating 7,000 EVs and completing over 12.5 million all-electric trips, covering 410 million clean kilometers and saving 30 million kilograms of CO2 emissions since its inception. Additionally, BluSmart owns and operates 4,400 EV chargers across 36 charging superhubs in densely populated megacities like Delhi NCR and Bangalore. A recent multi-year Power Purchase Agreement with Tata Power Trading Company Ltd. solidifies BluSmart’s transition to a 100% emission-free company, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to ‘Decarbonize Mobility at Scale.’
