chargeMOD Unveils Expansion Plans: 1,200 EV Chargers Nationwide, 600 In Kerala

chargeMOD, a startup based in Kerala, has revealed ambitious expansion goals, intending to deploy an additional 1,200 EV chargers across India and 600 specifically within Kerala. The company, in a recent announcement, detailed its strategy to deploy 1,000 slow chargers and 200 fast chargers in various Indian states, along with 500 slow chargers and 100 fast chargers in Kerala, in addition to the existing 1,500 charging stations in Kerala and 2,000 stations nationwide.

chargeMOD also revealed plans to introduce Ultra Fast Chargers with capacities ranging from 120 kW to 340 kW, enhancing charging speeds for EV users. M Ramanunni, CEO and co-founder, emphasized chargeMOD’s commitment to quality and affordability amidst challenges posed by inexpensive imported chargers. He highlighted the company’s focus on reliability and efficiency, positioning chargeMOD as a leader in the EV charging sector, with an ecosystem of EV charging solutions, including Indian-made hardware and software.

The strategic placement of AC slow chargers within a 5 km radius and DC fast chargers within a 50 km radius reflects chargeMOD’s dedication to accessibility and convenience for EV users nationwide. The company reported significant growth, with over 120 new subscribers daily, enabling over four million kilometers of emission-free travel and preventing over 995 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions, saving more than 160,000 liters of gasoline.

As a product of the Kerala Startup Mission’s incubation program, chargeMOD holds the distinction of being the inaugural company in Kerala to create a homegrown mobile application designed for charging stations. With a network of over 2,000 charging stations across ten states and customer support in six languages, chargeMOD boasts 150 fast charging stations, positioning itself as a prominent player in India’s EV charging infrastructure landscape.
