Blackbuck EV announced the commencement of road trials for their ELON 3X, a 3-axle, 13-meter electric bus, at their Hyderabad facility. These vehicles will undergo rigorous validation and testing processes in preparation for certification.
Ramakrishnam Raju, Founder & CEO of Blackbuck EV, expressed excitement about introducing the ELON 3X to the market in 2025. He highlighted the company’s commitment to manufacturing the bus at their upcoming Micro-factories in Hyderabad.
After proving ground trials, Blackbuck EV plans to conduct public road trials of the ELON 3X with one of India’s leading transport operators in the first quarter of 2025. Production is slated to commence during the same period.
Raju emphasized that Blackbuck EV was established in 2019 with a vision to revolutionize the bus industry in India. He stressed their unique approach of developing the ELON 3X from the ground up, focusing on research and development to create an advanced modular skateboard platform. This platform ensures passenger comfort, reliability, and safety while offering fleet operators a cost-effective and efficient solution.
The company’s dedication to sustainability is evident in their use of recyclable materials and their focus on minimizing production welding. Raju also highlighted their understanding of the Indian market’s nuances, such as the preference for long journeys, superior suspension systems, noise-free cabins, and well-designed sleeper beds, all of which have been incorporated into the ELON 3X’s design.
Raju further outlined Blackbuck EV’s plans to complete their first micro-factory in Hyderabad in 2025, equipped with state-of-the-art technology for efficient manufacturing. Rama Chintalapati, co-founder, and director, praised the team’s efforts in redefining the norms of the Indian bus industry.
