TVS Motor Company, one of the remaining two-wheeler manufacturers offering a moped in its product lineup, continues to produce the XL100, which maintains a steady demand due to its unique market segment.
However, with the increasing shift towards electric vehicles globally, the company appears to be considering electrifying its moped. Recently, TVS Motor Company filed two trademark patents for XL EV and E-XL, presumably for the forthcoming electric moped.
Presently, there is no specified timeline for the launch of the XL100 Electric. The XL100 has been a fixture in the Indian market for many years. While it has undergone changes to comply with updated emission regulations, it has retained its utilitarian character.
The latest version available in the Indian market features advancements like fuel injection for the engine, an On-board Diagnostics Indicator, and halogen lighting.
