In a progressive move towards sustainable policing, the Coimbatore City Police has added five Altigreen electric three-wheelers to its patrolling fleet. These eco-friendly vehicles, sponsored by private firms as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, aim to enhance law enforcement capabilities while contributing to environmental conservation.

Specially crafted for patrolling purposes, each Altigreen electric three-wheeler sports a distinctive Coimbatore Police livery for easy identification. The vehicles come equipped with essential features such as a public address system, flashing lights, and a siren. With a commendable 100-kilometre range per charge, the patrol EVs can accommodate up to six people, ensuring efficient and sustainable mobility for the police force.

The handover ceremony, organized by Altigreen dealer Mahasakthi (Coimbatore and Madurai), unfolded at the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner’s Office. Mr. V Balakrishnan, the City Police Commissioner, officially flagged off the electric patrol vehicles, marking a significant step towards embracing green technology in law enforcement.

The financial support for this initiative came from the City Union Bank, Anaamalais Group, and Sri Mahasakthi Auto Agencies, showcasing a collaborative effort between the private sector and law enforcement agencies to promote eco-friendly policing solutions. The electric three-wheelers are anticipated to not only enhance patrolling efficiency but also set an example for sustainable practices in law enforcement across the region.
