Ivoryline 9m: Urban Sphere’s Innovative Electric Bus Series Makes Global Strides

Urban Sphere has unveiled its Ivoryline 9m electric bus series at the SIAT Expo 2024 in Pune, India, in collaboration with Hanif Qureshi, Joint Secretary for the Union Ministry of Heavy Industries.

The company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Espresso Limited in Kenya for the supply of 500 Ivoryline electric buses and with Procurabl for local manufacturing of the series.

Furthermore, Urban Sphere has entered into a distinct Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to provide Ivoryline 6m electric buses to the Philippines, pledging to deliver more than 50,000 units within the coming decade.

Urban Sphere aims to position India as a global hub for manufacturing and supplying electric buses, emphasizing indigenous development and fostering growth in the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector.

The Ivoryline series, featuring the indigenously developed 9m electric skateboard chassis named MULA, boasts a 180 kWh motor and a 193.1 kWh LFP battery pack, enabling compatibility with a 250 kWh fast charger for a rapid recharge time of just 45 minutes.

CEO Karthik Athreya highlighted the company’s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and environmental responsibility, envisioning India as a leader in green mobility solutions.

Urban Sphere emphasized that 70% of the Ivoryline is developed and manufactured in India, showcasing the company’s dedication to local collaboration and sustainability.

The R&D Facility in Karnataka played a pivotal role in bringing the product to fruition, with support from ARAI – AMTIF contributing to the company’s success in sustainable transportation solutions.
