Terra Charge, an EV charging infrastructure development company, has inaugurated a new Research and Development center in New Town, Kolkata.
The center is aimed at expanding the company’s charger range, exploring advanced charging methods, and devising energy management strategies.
The move is part of Terra Charge’s strategy to enhance its existing chargers and create advanced EV solutions to meet the evolving demands of the industry, projected to reach a market value of USD 113.9 billion by 2029.
The R&D center, supported by Japanese technology, will serve as a hub for research and innovative charging design, reinforcing Terra Charge’s commitment to the Indian government’s goal of boosting EV penetration by 2030.
The center will also contribute to the development of EV chargers and infrastructure services, backed by an MoU signed with the Tamil Nadu government to strengthen the state’s EV charging infrastructure.
Additionally, Terra Charge has introduced the Terra Charge Blanket Solution, a comprehensive package tailored for logistics and last-mile delivery businesses. The company has expanded its presence to six major Indian cities to address EV charging-related challenges across the country.
CEO Akihiro Ueda expressed confidence that the new R&D center would enhance product offerings, provide a competitive edge, and contribute significantly to the EV ecosystem and the community.
