In a significant move towards sustainable mobility, BYD, a global leader in new energy vehicles, has unveiled its much-anticipated BYD SEAL in Nepal, in partnership with its local authorized distributor, Cimex Inc. Pvt. Ltd. The introduction of this electric vehicle, available in three variants (Dynamic, Premium, and Performance) and four standard colors, marks BYD’s third venture into the pure electric passenger vehicle market in Nepal, following the successful launches of the BYD ATTO 3 and the BYD DOLPHIN.

The BYD SEAL, constructed on the cutting-edge e-Platform 3.0, is a sleek sedan boasting innovative CTB (Cell-to-Body) technology and iTAC technology. The vehicle offers both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations, double-wishbone front suspension, and rear five-link suspension, and offers exceptional comfort, safety, and performance. Its acclaim is further solidified by achieving a prestigious five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP and the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) in 2023, underscoring its adherence to the latest and most rigorous safety standards.

BYD’s commitment to eco-friendly transportation has been evident in its longstanding presence in Nepal. Since 2018, with the inclusion of the e6 model in the Nepalese presidential fleet, BYD has been spearheading the adoption of electric vehicles in the country. The company officially entered Nepal’s passenger car market in October 2022, introducing a range of popular models to cater to local preferences.

Presently, BYD boasts 12 showrooms, 9 service centers, and 15 charging points across Nepal, with plans for further expansion underway. Cimex Inc., in collaboration with BYD, has been instrumental in offering electric vehicles like the BYD ATTO 3 and the BYD DOLPHIN, catering to diverse customer needs in the market.

Aligned with BYD’s vision, the Nepalese government is actively promoting electric vehicles, leveraging the nation’s abundant hydropower resources. Plans are in motion to establish an additional 500 charging stations along major highways and urban areas, signaling a concerted effort toward transitioning to electric transportation. In response to the escalating demand for sustainable mobility solutions, BYD remains committed to introducing new energy vehicles tailored to local market demands. Through strategic partnerships with reputable local collaborators, BYD aims to bolster its sales and after-sales service network, offering comprehensive new energy solutions and expediting Nepal’s journey towards greener transportation alternatives.
