Hyderabad-based ZERO21 Renewable Energy Solutions Pvt. Ltd. has launched ‘Project Gagan’, an initiative aimed at transforming the landscape of auto-rickshaw mobility in India.

Project Gagan offers fossil fuel auto-rickshaw owners the option to retrofit their vehicles into electric ones or exchange them for new electric three-wheelers.

The retrofitting process, facilitated by a specially designed Conversion Kit, can seamlessly convert any internal combustion engine (ICE) passenger three-wheeler to electric in less than four hours, according to the company.

ZERO21’s goal is to reach 100,000 autos within the next 5 years through Project Gagan, either via retrofitting or exchanging them for new electric autos.

This initiative allows owners to transition quickly to electric mobility with extended vehicle life, minimal maintenance, and exceptionally low running costs.

As part of ZERO21’s strategic vision to enhance the image of three-wheelers and facilitate faster services, the company has introduced Roadside Assistance (RSA) with a unique theme.

The primary focus of Project Gagan is to reduce pollution, lower operating and maintenance costs, and provide long-term financial benefits to auto-rickshaw drivers. The initiative aligns with broader goals of sustainable urban development by encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles and supporting the transition to a more sustainable transportation system.
