In a groundbreaking initiative, EMotorad, a leading manufacturer of electric cycles, is set to host India’s inaugural Electric Cycle Marathon, known as E-Cyclothon, on January 26, 2024, in Bengaluru, commencing at 7 AM. The event is scheduled to coincide with India’s 75th Republic Day celebrations and aims to advocate for reduced carbon footprints while advancing the nation’s sustainable mobility agenda.
Embodying the spirit of both sustainability and fitness, the E-Cyclothon is poised to become a significant platform promoting a healthier lifestyle and environmental consciousness. Covering a 25 km route, the marathon is expected to draw over 500 participants, offering them a refreshing escape from Bengaluru’s bustling traffic and an opportunity to explore scenic landscapes under the open sky. Adding to the significance of the event, N.A. Harris, Member of Legislative Assembly from Shanti Nagar, will grace the occasion and officiate the flag-off ceremony, symbolizing collective support for a greener future.
The E-Cyclothon is envisioned to revolutionize urban living by encouraging the use of electric cycles, fostering an inclusive community for individuals of all age groups and backgrounds to partake in the event at their own pace. This initiative seeks to alleviate traffic congestion and promote quality time spent with family, friends, and oneself, while embracing an eco-friendly mode of transportation.
Mr. Sumedh Battwar, co-founder and Chief Business Officer of EMotorad, expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating, “With the advent of E-Cyclothon, we invite our electric cycle riders to embark on a new journey of fun. We consider our riders as family and believe it is time for them to connect and create a community dedicated to the lifestyle changes we advocate.”
To ensure a memorable experience for participants, EMotorad has announced attractive prizes, certificates, and medals for winners. The marathon will also feature notable celebrities and influencers, providing riders with the opportunity to capture special moments and enjoy a healthy breakfast afterward.
In line with its commitment to inclusivity, the E-Cyclothon offers free participation to EM riders, while others can register for a nominal fee of Rs. 1299. Participants can fully redeem the registration fee towards the purchase of EMotorad’s accessories and electric cycles. Registration operates on a first-come, first-served basis, offering fitness enthusiasts a unique opportunity to kickstart 2024 with a focus on well-being and eco-consciousness. India’s inaugural E-Cyclothon is poised to inspire a nationwide shift towards sustainable mobility and individual health awareness.
