Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot announced the inauguration of 500 electric buses in the national capital on January 23, boosting the total count to 1,800.
Emphasizing the significance of public transport in combating pollution, Gahlot urged Delhi residents to prioritize its use, highlighting the cost savings and environmental benefits.
During his bus journey, the minister interacted with citizens, encouraging the adoption of eco-friendly commuting.
Additionally, Gahlot showcased the ‘One Delhi’ mobile app for booking bus tickets, aligning with the government’s collaboration with Tummoc for a unified ticket system covering buses, metro, and autorickshaws. As of December 2023, Delhi’s government fleet comprised 7,232 buses.
