In a significant move towards enhancing energy sustainability within its fleet, the U.S. Army has awarded Beam Global, a leading provider of innovative infrastructure solutions, a substantial $7.4 million order. The contract, facilitated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Army Material Command (AMC), entails the procurement of 88 EV ARC™ sustainable off-grid charging systems. These cutting-edge charging stations are set to be strategically deployed across 21 locations spanning 16 states.

The purchase was executed through the General Services Administration’s Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) Contract Number 47QSWA21D0006, streamlining the federal procurement process and ensuring optimal pricing for the U.S. Army.

The U.S. Army’s commitment to building a more sustainable and energy-resilient future for its fleet and facilities is evident in this strategic investment. The EV ARC™ charging systems align with the directives of Executive Order 14057, which mandates the acquisition of 100% zero-emission federal fleet light-duty vehicles by 2027. This initiative also supports the growing fleet of zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs).

Spanning 16 states, including Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia, the EV ARC™ charging systems will be deployed at various AMC locations. Impressively, over 70% of the selected sites will receive multiple charging systems per location.

Beam Global CEO, Desmond Wheatley, emphasized the growing importance of energy security and resilience in the expansion of EV charging infrastructure, particularly in line with federal electrification initiatives like Executive Order 14057. He stated, “As federal fleet electrification initiatives like Executive Order 14057 gain momentum, we expect continued growth in the federal sector. Energy security and energy resilience is an increasingly important consideration in building out the EV charging infrastructure and we support the goal to have 25% of EV charging infrastructure off-grid and powered by 100% renewable energy. Our sustainable EV charging solutions create American manufacturing jobs to build American-made products that serve zero-emission transportation with 100% locally generated, renewable, and resilient energy. We proudly employ veterans and invite more to join us and our mission to lead the world to clean mobility.”
