Switch Mobility Ltd, the maker of advanced carbon-neutral electric buses and light commercial vehicles, and a member of the Hinduja Group, introduced its double-decker bus during the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024. The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendrabhai Patel, inaugurated the Switch EiV 22 bus at the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City).
The initial journey on the bus was taken by the Chief Minister, Minister of State for Transport Harsh Sanghavi, GIFT City chairman Hasmukh Adhia, GIFT City Managing Director Tapan Ray, Additional Chief Secretary (Ports, Transport, Revenue) MK Das, and GSRTC MD MA Gandhi. In line with GSRTC’s commitment to improving public transportation in Gujarat, five Switch EiV 22 buses have been acquired. These buses, crafted by Switch Mobility, will operate on the route between Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad along the SG Highway, offering an eco-friendly solution for commuters.
The GSRTC fleet aims to provide cleaner and more intelligent intra-city travel, with Switch Mobility managing the supply, operation, and maintenance of these electric buses.

The expansive interiors, high-quality seating, and inventive elements such as extra-wide doors herald a new era of heightened commuter comfort.”
He added a vision for the future, “May these double-deckers become synonymous with a new era of smart, green, and truly delightful urban travel in Gujarat!”
Crafted for more environmentally friendly and intelligent travel experiences, the bus incorporates state-of-the-art technology, such as a customized air conditioning system designed for India, extra-wide doors, and a safety-compliant emergency exit. With a capacity for 65 passengers, the emphasis is on comfort through premium interiors and lightweight cushions. Exclusive features like ‘Switch iON’ provide capabilities for remote diagnostics and continuous real-time monitoring.
The 231 kWh battery pack, utilizing advanced lithium-ion NMC chemistry, provides an impressive 250 km range per day. The Switch EiV 22 signifies a paradigm shift in sustainable urban transportation. Switch Mobility’s extensive fleet, consisting of nearly 600 buses, operates seamlessly across major Indian cities, including Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad.
