Ride-hailing platform, Uber announced the introduction of its global flagship electric vehicle service, Uber Green, in Bengaluru. This initiative allows residents of the tech city to book eco-friendly rides through the app, promoting sustainable transportation.
The first Uber Green vehicles were flagged off by Karnataka Information Technology Minister Priyank Kharge at the Bengaluru Palace during the Bengaluru Tech Summit.
The service is initially available in central Bengaluru and will expand to more parts of the city. Uber aims to provide riders with a sustainable transportation choice, contributing to the improvement of air quality in Bengaluru.
Uber India President Prabhjeet Singh emphasized the company’s unwavering commitment to sustainability, with Bengaluru being the second city in the country to offer Uber Green after its launch in Mumbai.
