Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited (TPEVCSL), a prominent player in India’s EV charging solutions domain, sealed a significant deal with the Kanpur Municipal Corporation to establish 12 EV charging stations across six vital locations in Kanpur. This collaboration signifies a pivotal step in revolutionizing the city’s electric vehicle infrastructure.
Strategically positioned at key points including Krishna Nagar’s Zonal Offices in Zone-02 and Zone-05, Sen Para Police Chauki, Moti Jheel Parking/Kargil Park, Gol Chouraha near the Medical College, and Children’s Park near OEF at Vijay Nagar Chauraha, each location will house two charging guns, resulting in a total of 12 charging points citywide. These charging stations will be easily accessible through the Tata Power EZ Charge mobile app, facilitating EV users in locating them.
Virendra Goyal, Head of Business Development (EV Charging) at Tata Power, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating, “Our partnership with the Kanpur Municipal Corporation represents a significant stride in our commitment to sustainable mobility initiatives nationwide. The placement of charging stations at pivotal Kanpur locations resonates with our broader goals of making electric mobility easily accessible. We aim to contribute to the State’s vision of a cleaner and greener future.”
Shri. Shivasharanappa G N (IAS), Municipal Commissioner of Kanpur Municipal Corporation, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, affirming its alignment with Kanpur’s aspirations of becoming an eco-friendly city. He highlighted Tata Power’s advanced charging solutions as instrumental in Kanpur’s transition towards sustainability.
Uttar Pradesh’s government aims to establish EV charging stations across various municipal cities, including Agra, Lucknow, Kanpur, and Prayagraj, alongside additional stations at heritage sites and tourist destinations. The plan also includes deploying charging stations in National and State parks across the state.
Tata Power’s commitment to fostering e-mobility in Kanpur mirrors its nationwide effort to provide reliable and convenient EV charging infrastructure, aligning with the UP government’s ambitious vision of establishing public charging stations at regular intervals in cities and along highways.
With a substantial market share and an extensive EZ Charge network spanning across 420 cities, including 4,900 public charging points and 460 bus-charging stations, Tata Power stands at the forefront of the electric vehicle charging domain. The Tata Power EZ Charger mobile app serves as an access point to the expansive EV charging network, available for download on both iOS and Android platforms.
