TVS Motor Company Set To Expand Electric Two-Wheeler Lineup And Strengthen EV Infrastructure

TVS Motor Company is set to broaden its electric two-wheeler lineup within the next year to cater to a diverse range of customer preferences in terms of pricing. The company, headquartered in Chennai, currently offers two e-scooters and has plans to expand its electric vehicle sales infrastructure. Additionally, TVS Motor is actively developing an electric three-wheeler.

K N Radhakrishnan, CEO of TVS Motor Company, shared the company’s plans in an analyst call, stating, “We also have plans to introduce a range of products within the 5 to 25 kilowatts range in the upcoming year.” In response to strong market demand, the production capacity for the iQube electric scooter has been raised to 25,000 units per month, with additional expansions in the works.

TVS is gearing up to introduce its new electric scooter, TVS X, in the current quarter. Radhakrishnan highlighted the company’s extensive network, boasting close to 400 touchpoints for e-scooters, and emphasized continuous expansion efforts. He expressed confidence that, with planned product offerings and ongoing infrastructure improvements, TVS Motor will remain a strong player in the electric vehicle segment.

Responding to inquiries about exports, Radhakrishnan mentioned that iQube is expected to be available in many markets in the next two to three quarters. The company has clear plans to expand its EV presence globally, with Europe being a potential market for iQube.

Addressing the electric three-wheeler segment, Radhakrishnan stated that the product is in the final stages of preparation. TVS Motor is keen on enhancing its position in the three-wheeler segment, particularly in the international market, and sees the electric three-wheeler as a strategic move to achieve this goal.
