Technopark has inaugurated its first solar-powered electric vehicle (EV) charging station on its campus. The CEO of Technopark, Col Sanjeev Nair (Retd.), unveiled the station in the presence of CFO Jayanthi. L, General Manager (Projects), Madhavan Praveen, and Technopark staff members.
This initiative aligns with the state government’s vision of establishing EV charging stations and promoting green energy. The station offers both slow and fast charging capabilities, accommodating one fast-charging car and one each two-wheeler and a three-wheeler for slow charging simultaneously.
Equipped with advanced solar panels, the station harnesses sunlight to provide clean and renewable energy for charging vehicles. By installing this charging station, Technopark takes a significant step towards achieving its aim of becoming an environmentally sustainable and carbon-neutral IT Park.
The Engineering Department of Technopark fully designed and executed this EV charging station, which utilizes solar, electric grid, and DG power sources, making it unique and always operational.
The station charges Rs. 15.34 per unit for fast charging and Rs. 10.61 per unit for slow charging. Technopark’s commitment to sustainability is evident through this addition, encouraging its employees to opt for eco-friendly transportation.
