Rana Group Plans To Invest Rs 1,900 Crores In Electric Vehicle Business

Rana Group has diverse business interests and an official from the company said that it would invest Rs 1,900 Crores in the electric vehicles business. The group also appointed cricketer Sourav Ganguly as its brand ambassador.

Rana Group Chairman and CMD Darshan Singh Rana said, “We have signed two MoUs. The investment for the PPP model will be around Rs 400 crores to set up 100 electric vehicle charging hubs. The investment for the Jhansi EV park will be approximately Rs 1,500 crores.”

Rana Group has launched electric 2-wheelers as well as four different apps, including smart farming, smart charging, and education. OHEO is a complete solution for electric vehicles that includes sales and after-sales assistance, financing, insurance and vehicle engagement.

The group has opened 101 showrooms in India and begun billing customers for electric three-wheelers.

“We will begin selling EV 2-wheelers in July. “Our EV charging hubs are expected to begin in 2 to 3 months and the Jhansi facility should be operational within 6 to 7 months,” Singh stated.

He added that the company was in the process of raising money at a valuation estimated to be over Rs 4,000 crores.
