Honda Cars India Ltd., a leading manufacturer of premium cars, has begun production of the highly anticipated India’s Supreme Electric Hybrid. Honda’s world-class manufacturing facility in Tapukara in Rajasthan is producing the car model. This is a clear sign of Honda’s commitment towards making cars in India. India’s first strong Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) in the mainstream segment is the new City e.HEV.

The New City e:HEV has Honda’s unique self-charging and highly efficient Two-motor e-CVT hybrid system, connected to a smooth 1.5 litre Atkinson Cycle DOHC i.VTEC petrol engine, Intelligent Power Unit with advanced Lithium-ion Battery, and an Engine-linked direct coupling Clutch. This electric-hybrid system uses three modes of driving – EV Drive (EV Drive), Hybrid Drive, Engine Drive, Regeneration mode during deceler, which includes Regeneration mode for when the vehicle is in Regeneration. The clever Power Control Unit allows seamless switching between all three modes depending on driving conditions.
New City e-HEV’s powerful hybrid electric system produces system Combined Max Power of 126PS, Outstanding Fuel Efficiency at 26.5km/l and an advanced Electric Servo brake system with all 4 wheel disc brakes which contribute to fuel economy and provide a smoother brake feel.
The City e-HEV will be the first Indian vehicle to feature Honda’s intelligent safety technology “Honda Sensing”. These safety features include Collision Mitigation Braking System, Adaptive Cruise Control (CMBS), Road Departure Mitigation(RDM), Lane Keeping Assist System LKAS and Auto High Beam.
The New City e-HEV will offer an enhanced Connected Car experience with 37 Honda Connect features and smartwatch functionality, along with Alexa integrations and OK Google.
The City e:HEV exterior features a Honda Solid Wing Face with a signature Blue H-mark logo in the front and rear, e.HEV emblem at the rear, and new Claw-type Fog LightGarnish.
The car’s interior is luxurious and spacious. It features Luxurious Two-Tone Ivory and Black Interior Colour Theme. Also, it has a new 17.7 cm High Definition Full-Color TFT Meter that displays multi-information, including e:HEV power flows meters, Honda Sensing support, and other alerts and warnings. The interior features a 20.3 cm Advanced Touchscreen Audio Display Audio with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto connectivity, LED interior room lamps and soothing Ambient Lighting.
Honda City e-HEV is fully equipped with advanced safety technology and features such as ACE body structure, Ultra-High Tensile Strength steel frame with Super High Formability 980MPa grade steel, AVAS(Acoustic Vehicle Alarming System at low speeds EV Mode), 6 airbags, Honda Lane Watch, Honda Lane-Watch. Multi-angle rearview camera, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System with Deflation Warning. Vehicle Stability Assist With Agile Handling Assist. Hill Start Ass.
As a standard benefit, the New City e-HEV will provide complete security with a 3-year unlimited kilometres warranty. Customers can choose to have an Extended Warranty of up to 5 Years or an Anytime Warranty of up to 10 Years from the date they purchase their car. The warranty on lithium-ion batteries will be 8 years or 1 60 000 km (Whichever is first).
