Adani Total Gas Ltd (“ATGL”), India’s leading City Gas Distribution company, has forayed into Electric Mobility by launching its first electric vehicle charging station (EVCS) in Ahmedabad. The EVCS, located at ATGL’s CNG station at Maninagar in Ahmedabad, will enable a quick turnaround time for EV owners with best-in-class fast charging technology and a convenient use digital platform. The company aims to expand its network by setting up 1500 EVCS across the country and has kept an expansion plan ready to move beyond 1500 EVCS, basis the demand generation and momentum building of the EV ecosystem in the country.
Tata Power and Rustomjee Group Collaborate to Set Up EV Charging Infrastructure Across Mumbai Metropolitan Region
Tata Power, one of India’s largest electric vehicle charging solutions providers has collaborated with Rustomjee Group, the leading real estate developer, to provide end-to-end EV charging solutions across all its residential and commercial projects in Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). Under this collaboration, Tata Power will install a dedicated charging infrastructure for residents of Rustomjee in Mumbai MMR. EV owners will have the access to a 24×7 charging facility along with maintenance support. Customers can connect through the Tata Power EZ Charge mobile application for all services including remote vehicle charging monitoring & e-payments. The partnership will enable Rustomjee residents’ access to a uniform and ubiquitous EV charging experience.
Tata Motors and PPS Motors Join Hands to Launch Their First Dealership in Chennai
Tata Motors, in partnership with PPS Motors, has inaugurated a new state-of-the-art dealership at Pallikarnai – in the city of Chennai. Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles Are Getting Developed in India with International Collaborations
Some Indian and Foreign Automobile manufacturers are taking initiatives to develop Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles said Minister of State for Heavy Industries Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar. The Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Automobile and Auto Components notified by the Ministry of Heavy Industries provides ‘sales value linked’ incentives on Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles and their components in the range of 13% to 18%. As per information received from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), some manufacturers in India have undertaken initiatives to develop prototypes of Hydrogen Fuel Cell vehicles and some of the Global manufacturers in India have also demonstrated Fuel Cell vehicles.
Toyota Plans to Drive Hybrids with An Eye on the E-Car Industry
Toyota has firmed up plans to step up its game in the green mobility segment, and is preparing to launch a slew of powerful hybrid vehicles in the heart of the local market over the next few years to reduce vehicular emissions until renewable energy becomes more widely available, making electric automobiles cleaner and more mainstream. The first of those items, which can be made domestically, will hit the streets later this year. For the domestic market and export, the company has already invested 2,000 crores in know-how and electrification. New investments can be made ahead of the launch of a new product.
Mahindra Plans to Launch eKUV by This Year
After exhibiting the eKUV at the 2020 Auto Show, Mahindra & Mahindra may finally introduce it this year. Since its inception in the electric vehicle market, Mahindra has made a concerted effort. This market has become quite popular, and numerous automakers, particularly Tata, have entered the fray, posing a serious threat to Mahindra. Mahindra is also prepared to offer new models in a few years, taking into account the new challenges and expectations in the electric car category. The business displayed three concept EVs at the Auto Expo 2020, all of which are currently in production. The eKUV100 is one of these. Amazon India and SUN Mobility to Expand Deployment of Electric Vehicles Integrated with Battery Swapping Technology
Amazon India is working together with SUN Mobility, a leading provider of energy infrastructure and services for electric vehicles (EVs), to expand the deployment of EVs integrated with battery swapping technology for its transportation and logistics services. These EVs will contribute to Amazon India’s commitment to adding 10,000 electric vehicles to its India delivery fleet by 2025, announced in 2020. The company continues to work with local OEMs like SUN Mobility to build its EV fleet. Leveraging SUN Mobility’s MaaS (mobility-as-a-service) offering, the deployment will provide Amazon India and its delivery service partners (DSPs) with a state-of-the-art electric mobility solution that is integrated with smart batteries, along with access to a wide network of SWAP POINTS™ (‘SWAP POINT™’ refer to the location where a SUN Mobility’s battery-swapping station is deployed).
