Madhya Pradesh To Launch Its EV Policy In March-April

The government of Madhya Pradesh will launch its electric vehicle policy between the month of March and April. The government is currently at the final stage according to the officials.

The industrial policy and investment promotion department of Madhya Pradesh has framed the EV policy with various recommendations from stakeholders of the automobile industry.

Sanjay Kumar Shukla, Principal Secretary, Industrial policy and investment promotion department said, “EV policy is ready and is in consultation stage with the state government and other stakeholders. Once the final blueprint is prepared, it would be brought before the state cabinet for approval.”

“We are looking to make the state a favourable destination for the auto industry and handhold them in expanding the dealer’s network in the state. The state has immense potential for the auto industry and we are working on enhancing it for the industry,” said Rohan Saxena, Executive Director, Madhya Pradesh industrial development corporation, Indore.

Recently, Chandigarh approved the “Draft Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy 2022” to convert the city into a ‘Model Electric Vehicle City’ within the time period of 5 years.
