‘National Programme on Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) Battery Storage’ or Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Battery scheme receives bids from 10 companies.
These companies are Lucas-TVS Limited, India Power Corporation Limited, Larsen & Toubro Limited, Reliance New Energy Solar Limited, Ola Electric Mobility Private Limited, Exide Industries Limited, Mahindra & Mahindra Limited, Ola Electric Mobility Private Limited, Amara Raja Batteries Limited, and Reliance New Energy Solar Limited.
Under this scheme, India will have 50 GWh of ACC battery storage generating capacity and all the companies have applied for 130 GWh capacity. The chosen company will be able to choose raw materials, plant and machinery, suitable advanced technology, and other intermediate goods for establishing the manufacturing unit.
The plants need to be set up within the 2 years of being chosen and payouts will be applicable over 5 years. The ACC scheme supports the shift to electric vehicles and will give domestic batteries for the same. The scheme will also provide batteries for solar and wind for 2 years. Reliance Industries was chosen in the Solar PLI scheme.
