Battery accounts for 40% of the total cost of manufacturing of the electric vehicle\,  Li-ion battery market in India is expected to increase from 2.9 GWh in 2018 to about 132 GWh by 2030\, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 35.5%.  The Li-ion battery market in India is expected to increase to about 132 GWh by 2030. India imported $1.23 Bn worth lof Li-ion batteries between 2018 and 2019.
