SUMMARY:EV Manufacturing & Design Show 2021
DESCRIPTION:By 2040\, 54% of new car sales and 33% of the global car fleet is predicted to be electric.1 More than six countries have announced a ban on internal-combustion engines. China is expected to be the largest market for electrical vehicles (EVs)\, which is pushing automakers to come up with aggressive rollout plans for EVs. \nThe electric vehicle market in India is getting ready for stronger growth. More than 200 existing and startup EV manufacturers have started production into the fast lane to keep up with the rapidly growing demand for electrified mobility. As demand increases\, established and startup automotive manufacturers need to quickly ramp up EV production and reduce manufacturing costs to take advantage. EV manufacturing\, however\, presents unique challenges to automotive companies needing to survive the present and win in the future of mobility. Several challenges that need to be addressed are from a technology point of view. The range anxiety and charging time are still considered as a hurdle in adoption. Battery reliability and life are still the factors that worry the OEMs. By leveraging cutting edge manufacturing automation and design simulation of both product and production\, manufacturers can take design and validate assembly processes and entire facilities to the next level\, improving quality and accelerating the ramp-up to volume production. However\, for India\, the success of EVs will be largely determined by the ability to localize the design and production of EV powertrain\, components\, and setting up next-generation infrastructure facilities. \nThe prosperity in this segment is largely driven by the ability of manufacturers to come up with next-generation vehicles by ensuring the best in class performance and reliability over the others keeping them cost-competitive. To achieve the right balance of these attributes requires designing and manufacturing the electric drivetrain components that perfectly fit requirements and operational attributes corresponding to the Indian driving scenario. \nEngineering simulation is one of the key factors in designing the next generation of vehicles. Multiple OEMs and startups are investing time and resources into mastering the shift from ICEs to EVs. Companies that can turn the combination of EV performance\, range\, and durability into commercial success will increasingly dominate the competition. This complexity would be impossible to master without advanced simulation processes in place to drive the sizing\, shape\, and performance tradeoffs that result in a successful EV product. While computer simulation has been used by conventional automakers for some time\, the latest methodologies available now are a perfect match for EV design. \nThis virtual summit will try to uncover some of the advances in electric vehicle design and production using simulation solutions. Industry leaders and technology enablers will try to bring out various challenges in self-reliance for Indian electric vehicle development and how simulation-driven design and development help to counter them. \nKey Discussion Points \n\nA Deeper Look at Indian EV Manufacturing Sector\nIdentifying Step By Step Manufacturing & Supply Chain Capabilities in India\nUnderstanding the Environment for EV Manufacturing Growth\nSolving Electric Vehicle Production Challenges with Simulation Driven Designing\nIdentifying Key Partners for Collaboration\nFiguring out Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative aim to open fresh opportunities in India’s EV industry\nDigital twin approach in electric vehicle production.\nImportance Of Lightweight Designs and Materials in EV Manufacturing\nEV Platforms for Supply Chain Optimization

SUMMARY:Masterclass on Project Finance & Financial Modelling: EV Charging Infrastructure
DESCRIPTION:Why Attend This Masterclass?\n\n\n\nThe charging infrastructure necessary to stimulate widespread adoption of increasingly available EVs in the marketplace remains to be built. As the mainstream OEMs begin to roll out EVs\, the role of charging infrastructure evolves from being an awareness tool to becoming a commercially viable business venture. The billion dollar question today is: How can companies package a commercially viable proposition and differentiate themselves in a non-existent\, yet crowded marketplace? \nGovernment and industry players both see scale and interoperability as a key to a successful roll out. Some analysts believe failure to coordinate this system could set adoption back 10 years. However\, to implement an appropriate EV charging infrastructure does not necessarily mean mandating an outlet at every street corner. It means creating a profitable industry where the economics are profitable and self-sustaining to justify the investment as the market develops. \nWith electric vehicle (EV) adoption expanding across the nation\, the need for charging stations is rising exponentially\, as projections are pointing towards continued industry evolution and growth. This Project Finance & Financial Modelling: EV Charging Infrastructure Master Class will explore those projections while providing attendees with a comprehensive overview of the business and revenue models being deployed in the EV charging infrastructure space. A lack of deep understanding of these economics and business models can prevent many stakeholders from fully utilizing this opportunity to optimize their profits. This course is your opportunity to learn where you and your firm fit into the EV charging infrastructure landscape through exploring current trends and pressure points in EV infrastructure deployment.

SUMMARY:Specialist Approach for EV & ESS Battery Businesses in India: Business Strategies\, Future Outlook & Sustainable Value Chain
DESCRIPTION:Indian Government’s Atma Nirbhar initiative has created many opportunities for Battery Makers in EV and Renewable Energy Portfolio. Today\, EVs\, Large Scale Solar + Storage\, Hybrid\, Industrial UPS backup systems are all powered by batteries. Keeping this in mind to secure the production against all potential supply-chain disruptions\, the Government of India has made ambitious plans to indigenise cell and battery manufacturing. The likely economic opportunity from battery manufacturing to meet Indian EV targets is approximately INR 6 to 9 lakh crores by 2030 (NITI Aayog-RMI\, 2018). This includes the imports of components to make battery packs and also limited cell production. With a target of 50 GWh\, the NITI Aayog plan is planning support the establishment of anywhere between three to ten giga-factories of 20 GWh to 5 GWh capacity each in the country\, multiple state governments are also offering capital subsidies to deliver the infrastructural need for such giga-factories such as Gujarat\, Telangana\, Andhra Pradesh\, Karnataka etc. \nEstimating the India market to account for over 300GWh (2019-25) considering ESS & EV opportunities\, around USD 5 billion investments are expected to be attracted supporting 50+GWh capacities for multiple li-ion battery GIGA factories. Battery accounts for 40% of the total cost of manufacturing of the electric vehicle\, Li-ion battery market in India is expected to increase from 2.9 GWh in 2018 to about 132 GWh by 2030\, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 35.5%. The Li-ion battery market in India is expected to increase to about 132 GWh by 2030. India imported $1.23 Bn worth lof Li-ion batteries between 2018 and 2019. Having said this the LIB and Battery Businesses still needs a clear roadmap to enable a large-scale techno-economical ecosystem aligned with Indian requirements which includes technology and business partnership and bilateral trade agreements with various countries. \nThe goal of this ExpertTalk is to inform Battery Businesses & Indian Corporates who would like to stay up to date on the constantly evolving landscape of India’s Dynamic EV & ESS Market and Plan A Winning Business Strategy.
