RE+EV India 2021

7th May 2021 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm IST

In FY 2019-20, more than 1.5lakh EVs were sold in India in the 2W, 4W and buses segment. Though no official data is available on the largely unorganized electric 3W market, their total number is estimated upwards of 20 lakhs units comprising both passenger and cargo vehicles. Given the scale of potential EV penetration in the country, we need to figure out how can India make use of clean renewable energy to power its transport.

Although EVs are more efficient than ICE vehicles and have no tailpipe emissions, the reduction in overall pollution levels depends on the choice of renewable sources for charging their batteries. India currently has 89GW of RE capacity that is expected to expand to 175GW by 2022, and 450GW by 2030. For integration of RE energy with new age mobility with efficiency we need to have following aspects in future:

In this webinar we will discuss the opportunities and challenges of pairing RE with EV charging in India, New technology for RE integration , Role of DISCOMs for proper RE integration , Gov policy etc.

Points Of Discussion:

  1. Environmental impact: What Is The Economic and Environmental Impact of Providing Renewable Energy For Electric Vehicle Charging?
  2. Pairing EV with RE: Building Solutions And Recognizing Systemic Changes Required To Help Align The Bulk of EV Charging With the Availability of Renewable Energy.
  3. DISCOMs and Charging Infra: How An Integration Between DISCOMs and EV Charging Infrastructure Would Be Crucial With Rising EV Penetration?
  4. TOD (Time of Day) Tariff For RE Generation: How Do The TOD Metering and Billing Commercially Benefit The Utilities As Well As EV Consumers? And What Are The Challenges Faced In Implementing This India So Far?
  5. Grid to Vehicle Charging Technology: How To Manage RE Integration For EV Charging Through Implementation of AI and Machine Language.
  6. Battery Swapping Stations Powered By RE: Compatibility And Reliability Of Battery Swapping Charging Station With RE.
