Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has announced a series of organizational and leadership changes, effective April 1, as part of its efforts to ensure disciplined execution and successful completion of its Re:Nissan transformation plan.
The company stated that the restructuring aims to enhance operational continuity, reinforce accountability, and maintain strategic focus as it enters the final phase of the recovery programme.
Focus on Stability and Execution
Nissan noted that the Re:Nissan plan has already improved financial discipline, streamlined priorities, and strengthened execution across the organization. With these foundations in place, the company is now focused on delivering consistent results and embedding long-term improvements beyond the recovery phase.
Key Leadership Appointments
As part of the changes, Richard Candler will be promoted to Corporate Executive (CE), Family, Product & Components Strategy, reporting to Ivan Espinosa.
Yuichi Shibukawa will take on the role of CE, Research Division, reporting to Chief Technology Officer Eiichi Akashi, while veteran executive Kazuhiro Doi will retire after four decades of service.
Other notable changes include the reassignment of Kinichi Tanuma to a new leadership role within the group, with his current responsibilities redistributed across product development divisions.
Eiji Iguchi has been promoted to lead Powertrain and EV Component Production Engineering and Development, while Toshihiro Fujiki will head Global Aftersales and support the company’s recovery efforts in ASEAN markets.
In addition, Hirofumi Eta has been appointed as Regional Senior Vice President for R&D in China, and Yoshihiro Fujita will oversee finance operations across Japan, ASEAN, and affiliate companies.
Senior Leadership Retirements
Nissan also announced the retirement of several senior executives, including Anish Baijal, Corporate Executive for Global HR Strategy, and Hari Nada, Corporate Executive for Special Projects, acknowledging their long-standing contributions to the company.
